In Ocean, Tomás Salazar unfolds a creative maturity forged between seas. The young artist reveals his creative maturity after his time in the Mediterranean, linking his trajectory across the Atlantic to the shores of the Pacific. This experience, intertwined with his journey between oceans, becomes an emotional cartography drawn through intuitive gestures and vibrant chromaticism.
In this series of canvases, we encounter a new facet of the artist, immersed in a thematic and color-driven fantasy where the intuition of gesture and expression precipitate vitality with great intensity. Each work stands as a liquid territory in which the artist’s hand flows freely, capturing the force of the sea and its constant transformation.
The maritime experience proposed by Ocean conveys a trust in mutability, releasing a dance of forms and a natural humor that invite us to abandon any visual or conceptual rigidity. More than a representation of the sea, it is an invitation to dive in, submerge ourselves, and float without fear, allowing ourselves to be carried by emotion and releasing it upon the shore. In this ebb and flow, painting becomes a reminder that mutability is not instability, but the very essence of life.
